Holly Robinson Peete claimed on Friday that Sharon Osbourne had complained that she was “too ghetto” to co-host “The Talk” – and suggested that she might have lost her job because of it.
Earlier this week, Osbourne entered into an air exchange with co-host Sheryl Underwood over Osbourne’s defense of her longtime boyfriend Piers Morgan, whose criticism of Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey was marked as racist.
Osbourne – who asked Underwood to educate her on racism – cried during the spit, suggesting that her co-hosts accused her of being racist just because she joined Morgan.
But on Friday, Robinson Peete – who hosted the first season of the talk show in 2010 – suggested the shoe fit.
“I’m old enough to remember when Sharon complained that I was too” ghetto “for #theTalk … then I left. I bring this up now, I was mortified, following the disrespectful condescending tone she took with her co-host, who remained calm and respectful because … SHE HAD to ” Robinson Peete posted on Twitter. “I’ve always been a road girl, but when I watched what everyone else saw at my former show … it triggered me and I wanted to talk,” she added on Instagram.
Osbourne he later apologized and said he did not “accept racism, misogyny or aggression.”
“For any person of color that I have offended and / or for anyone who feels confused or disappointed by what I have said, I am really sorry,” she said.
Meanwhile, Morgan hit Osbourne’s “bullies” for forcing him to blame and apologized to “The Talk” for “their shameful insults against me.”
A spokesman for “The Talk” and Osbourne did not comment on Robinson Peete’s accusation.
