When Hitman 3 launches later this month, it looks like the game will shrink the file sizes for the previous two entries in the series. The announcement was made in a thread on ResetEra by A Path Finder, a verified member of the IO Interactive development team. It seems that all three games with all the content will have about 100 GB in total. A Path Search went on to say that IO Interactive accomplished the task by removing duplicate data and using “newer and better texture compression”. For those concerned about hard drive space, this should be very welcome news!
The space occupied by a game has become a serious problem for many players in recent years. As games continue to become more advanced and as DLC becomes an expected part of any release, so does the space occupied. Fortunately, IO Interactive is not the only publisher working to reduce the space occupied by the game; last year, Fortnite developer Epic Games has similarly announced that the size of its game will see a decrease on PC. We hope this will be the beginning of a trend in the entire video game industry!
Smaller file sizes are just one of the improvements that appear Hitman and Hitman 2 When Hitman 3 free. According to A Path Finder, previous games have been enhanced with reflections of screen space, which should make the experience more beautiful. These types of upgrades have become more common lately and should give players an extra incentive to revisit those previous titles.
Hitman 3 is the latest game in the series from IO Interactive, again putting players in the role of Agent 47. The game will apparently contain some of the biggest contracts in the franchise’s history, and players will have enough freedom to execute it as they see fit. This may mean loading or taking a more furious approach.
Hitman 3 will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC on January 20, 2021. You can check out all our previous game covers right here.
