Hitman 3 enjoyed the largest digital release in the history of the franchise, which seems to be a remarkable achievement given the inaugural entry in the World of Assassination trilogy adopted an episodic model. Of course, the game has launched this time on a wider list of platforms – including even Nintendo Switch and Google Stage – and the industry in general is more inclined to download in these pandemic times.
This means, in the end, that retail sales are probably down compared to Hitman 2, so it will be interesting to see how well the launch worked overall. You don’t get anything out of the IO Interactive developer, though: the title is great, and although the launch was a little wrong at first, it responded quickly and worked pretty quickly.
