Oscar Almeyda, the technician’s father San José Earthquakes, Matías Almeyda, died Tuesday of complications from Covid19, after a few days in the Pintos Hospital in Azul.
The news was confirmed by Silvia Calcagno, the strategist’s mother, who is also hospitalized for coronavirus.
Don Óscar was 78 years old and had an important career as coach of the lower divisions in Argentina and in the First Division, where he directed Velez Sarsfield, Boca Juniors, among others.
