Hilaria Baldwin announced Monday that she and her husband, Alec Baldwin, have had their sixth child together – less than six months after giving birth to baby number five.
Baldwin posted a photo of herself and her children on Instagram – Carmen, Raphael, Leonardo, Romeo and Eduardo – along with the newborn.
“7❤️📸Alec”, subtitled the photo. The newborn would be Alec Baldwin’s seventh child, as he also has a 25-year-old daughter, Ireland, with his ex-wife Kim Basinger.
A week earlier, she posted a short video caressing a newborn, with the caption: “Gratitude.”
The Baldwin had not publicly announced that they were expecting another child. Hilaria, a yoga instructor and actress, announced the birth of her fifth child on September 8, 2020. She had previously posted on social media about suffering two miscarriages.
Baldwin took a break from social media in late December after details on the Internet raised questions about her claims to the Spanish heritage. After apologizing on Instagram, he took a break from posting until February 5, then wrote: “I spent the last month listening, reflecting and wondering how I can learn and grow. My parents raised my brother and I with two cultures, American and Spanish, and I feel a real sense of belonging to both. “
She said she could have better explained her deep ties to two cultures, that she was proud of the way she was raised, and that she and her husband raised their children with “the same love and respect for both.”
“Being vulnerable and pushing us to learn and grow is what we have built on our community and I hope to return to the supportive and kind environment we have built together,” she continued. Baldwin, who for years used a Spanish accent and emphasized his Spanish heritage, grew up in Boston, but spent time with his family in Spain.
Throughout his posts, Baldwin never mentioned another child on the road. It is not clear whether the newest addition to the family was born by surrogacy or was adopted. CBS News contacted Baldwin for more information.
