After an average selection of offers in the last few months, Netflix Inc. It is being prepared with the arrival of summer, with some favorite series of fans returning in May, along with some well-known original films.
The biggest group is Zack Snyder, zombie / casino-heist mashup, “Army of the Dead” (May 21), an extremely violent caper film, starring Dave Bautista. On the face of the film, there is also “The woman in the window” (May 14), starring Amy Adams as the psychological thriller “Rear Window,” which saw its release delayed a year due to the pandemic; and “Oxygen” (May 12), a French sci-fi thriller starring Mélanie Laurent as a woman trapped in a cryogenic room.
Most fascinatingly, Aziz Ansari’s Emmy-winning comedy series “Nobody’s Master” returns for the third season (TBA date) after a gap of four years, in which allegations of sexual misconduct were raised against Ansari in 2018. The new season has moved filming from New York to London and, apparently, will focus more on Lena Waithe’s character, Denise.
Netflix NFLX,
also has the second part of season 5 of the drama of supernatural crime (and fan favorite) “Lucifer” (May 28); and the second part of “Selena: Series” (May 4), about the life of the late Mexican-American pop superstar.
