Print Screen: Apple

After weeks of speculation, we know that the first big Apple product event in 2021 will be on Tuesday, April 20th. (Thanks, Siri!) What could Apple launch after not hosting one, not two, but Three events from last fall? Well, a lot, actually – but save your iBong jokes, it’s certainly nothing to do with the date itself. Here’s what you can actually expect to see next week.

IPad Pro – Now with Mini LEDs

The rumor about Apple is buzzing about the new iPads for weeks and it is almost certain that we will see a new iPad Pro 11-inch and 12.9-inch. Also, Apple is never too boring with the name of its events. “Spring Loaded ”on behalf of the event could very well be a reference to the Apple pencil.

Last month, Bloomberg reported that the new iPads would probably have upgraded the cameras and a new processor on par with Apple introduced the M1 chip with its latest MacBooks last fall. Pro and 12.9 inchesExpect to have a miniLED screen that could improve brightness and contrast at a lower cost. Both Pro models are expected to have one Port Thunderbolt.

Don’t expect anything too radical, although. Mark Gurman, Apple forecaster, Bloomberg resident said in a recent interview that these updates would be “iterative” and nothing toothe breath would be on deck. Also, even if Apple launches these iPad Pro on Tuesday, that doesn’t mean they will be available immediately. There have been reports that problems related to the miniLED supply chain it could mean a delayed release, just like the way the iPhone 12 line came out a little later than usual last year.

Release AirTags !!!

AirTags, Apple’s response to Bluetooth trackers as well Tile and Chipolo may be one of the least kept “secrets” ever. We’ve heard about these gadgets since at least 2019, but there are good reasons to believe that the time has finally come.

For starters, Apple has slipped its U1 ultra-wideband chip into its latest devices, including iPhones 11 and 12, HomePod Mini and Apple Watch Series 6. The U1 chip is believed to support the Find My platform, so this is further proof that Apple has been laying the groundwork for AirTags for some time. The other half of the equation is that Apple has grown in the last two weeks tert support for the Find My network. This is huge, because it’s the equivalent of Apple waving a big flag that says: “Hey partners! We have big things coming soon, So get ready! “If AirTags isn’t featured, that roar you hear in the distance will probably be the anguished scream of tech journalists around the world.

A long-awaited redesign for the iMac

Since Apple last updated the iMac design in 2012, now is the perfect time to visually distinguish the Apple Silicon iMac from their Intel predecessors. Another indicative sign is that Apple recently gave up multiple iMac configurations. Historically, Apple is deleting its inventory means that a new version of the product is imminent.

The word is that new iMacs will get big, enlarging the display size over 21.5– and 27-inch models we are all used to it. It is likely that the redesign Vol it looks similar to the Apple Display Pro XDR monitor, which means a possible 32-inch screen, flat back, thinner frames and no more metal chin. Jon Prosser said the new iMac is coming in a range of colors, just like the iPhone 12 line. However, even if iMacs don’t show up on Tuesday, you can probably expect to see them sometime this year.

A slightly new look for AirPods 3

We owe some new AirPods – after all, tAirPods 2 came out over two years ago. Leak playbacks suggests that next-generation AirPods will create the AirPods Pro design, with a shorter stem and a smaller housing that supports wireless charging. It is also believed to support touch control. However, it did not rely on active noise cancellation or adaptive EQ. It is inspired by AirPods Pro, they do not completely replace them.

While AirPods 3 are expected this year, there is a chance that we will not see them on Tuesday. We are in the middle of a global shortage of chips that is wreaking havoc on consumer electronics, so it is a launch that could very well be delayed.

Apple knows you hate the Apple TV remote

Apple TV is another gadget that is in line for a refresh since It’s been almost four years since the launch of the fifth-generation Apple TV in 2017. Apple is going hard on Original TV + programming line, so it’s obvious that people might be watching it on an updated streaming tape, which can better support newer TVs and future formats. (Cough, 8K, cough cough). Since 2017, Apple has also introduced Apple Arcade and Fitness +, two services that could benefit from hardware upgrades for users who want to play or train on the biggest screen possible. Another sign that a new Apple TV could be imminent is the fact that tvOS 14.5 beta has the code it refers to an updated Apple TV remote control. Why launch a new remote control … without a new Apple TV?

These are compelling reasons why an Apple TV could make an appearance next week, but maybe temper your hopes. There is less concrete evidence for this release than the other products I mentioned here. That being said, if Apple TV isn’t available for spring, there’s always WWDC 2021.

We won’t have to wait long to find out what Apple has in store. As always, the Gizmodo crew will be live-event blogging, so make sure you tune in next Tuesday at 10 a.m. PDT / 1 pm EDT.
