Here’s everything you need to know

Sony’s hard-to-find PlayStation 5 could return to store shelves today.

According to the Spiel Times, a number of Target employees said that the PS5 will return to stock at Target sometime between Sunday 27 and Tuesday 29. It seems that this will not happen today, as restocking at the retailer usually takes place in the early hours of morning.

This means that – if the reports are correct – the PS5 could be purchased either tomorrow or Tuesday morning, and repopulation usually takes place between 5:00 and 7:00.

This will vary by region and all units will only be available online for purchase or in-store pickup. You won’t find a PS5 on store shelves for a while, due to both the rarity and the COVID-19 pandemic.

You’ll want to sign in to your target account with a saved and ready-to-use payment method. If repopulation occurs in the early hours of the morning, you will need to wake up early just in case.

Note: This is not a guarantee. This news has not been officially confirmed by either Sony or Target. It’s a chance and a chance just to get your hands on a PS5.

But remember: if you are not dying to play The souls of the demon, there’s no compelling reason to buy a PS5 right now (or an Xbox Series X).

The fact is that there are not so many state-of-the-art exclusives to play. Almost everything, inclusive Spider-Man: Miles Morales, can still be played on state-of-the-art consoles. This will change in 2021, but we suspect that it will become much easier to find these consoles in the new year (not immediately, of course).

However, good luck to you. And whatever you do, please do not buy systems priced from scalpers on eBay or other reseller sites. PS5 is an excellent console. It deserves MSRP and not an extra penny.
