Here are the cooking water reports in the San Antonio area

SAN ANTONIO – Power outages and broken pipes in the state of Texas are causing water quality problems for many municipalities. Millions of people across the state are under water.

A notice about boiling water means residents should boil their water before drinking it (eg washing hands / face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc.). Children, seniors and individuals with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria and all customers should follow these directions). In order to ensure that all harmful bacteria and other microbes are destroyed, water for drinking, cooking and making ice must be boiled and cooled before being used for drinking water or human consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous boil and then boiled for two minutes. Instead of boiling, people can buy bottled water or get water from some other suitable source for drinking or human consumption. When the water no longer needs to be boiled, public water system officials will inform customers that the water is safe for drinking or human consumption.
