“I can’t believe you’re serious.”
Heather Morris, who played Brittany Joy, is facing side effects for a series of tweets involving Mark Salling.

It all started when Kevin McHale, who played the role of Artie, redistributed a fan post about “A Very Merry Christmas”:
In the tweet, the face of Mark Salling, who played Puck, is covered by a spilled emoji. In 2017, Mark pleaded guilty to child pornography charges after being found with more than 55,000 images and videos of child pornography – with some of the victims between 3 and 5 years old. He died by suicide while awaiting sentencing shortly.
Heather then responded to Kevin’s retweet, calling the use of the emoji “offensive.”
Although some supported Heather, many people responded by expressing disapproval:
@HeatherMorrisTV @druidDUDE I think being a pedophile is a little more offensive than an emoji
@HeatherMorrisTV @druidDUDE I know he was your friend, but he wasn’t a good person and you have kids, I can’t believe you’re serious
@HeatherMorrisTV @druidDUDE as a victim of child pornography, it’s very disappointing to see from you Heather
Heather then wrote on Twitter about the “lack of respect and kindness” she received:
I don’t feel the need to ever justify something because it’s better to leave something unspoken. All of you who have a lot to say, understand it, UNDERSTAND it … something is unforgivable. But this holiday season, among ALL the holiday seasons, is INCREDIBLY hard for so many of us.
We have not only lost 2 members of the cast, we have lost 3. And it is so hard to be forced to act as the third is invisible because, although his actions are unjustified, he was part of our family at one time and he was mentally ill. Yes, pedophilia is a disease, but …
Although I don’t want to have to say all this, it’s true. So, THANK YOU for treating me with such disrespect and dissatisfaction at a time when I can’t go through a day without throwing my eyes at the loss of my entire Glee family … thank you
What stimulated a series of reactions in itself:
@HeatherMorrisTV and thank you for treating your children and families with such disrespect. you can have the feelings you want, but don’t expect us to do the same. you just don’t have the right to feel offended by ppl, believing that his photos are trigger
Some noted Heather’s tweets in response to her accusations of racism that Lea Michele faced from costar Samantha Ware earlier this summer:
@HeatherMorrisTV So this family is a little selective, right? Because when one of her former co-workers needed support when another member of that family abused her, almost no one supported her.
@HeatherMorrisTV shows naya and Cory a little respect, there is no reason to group them with a PEDOPHIL. and what? but what? he is still a pedophile.
As for Kevin, he didn’t comment further – but he liked a tweet that seemed to plead for Mark’s “cancellation”:
@ Jaelynne17 @allison_sorrell @HeatherMorrisTV @druidDUDE I agree that culture cancellation is toxic in most cases, but in this one. there are only a few things in life that you just don’t do. And I hope that anyone who feels they should do this will get the help they need / before doing something that will impact lives beyond theirs.
