The Department of Health (DS) said on Sunday that the scheduling system for vaccination against COVID-19 through the turnospr.com portal will not be used tomorrow, Monday, although it did not provide further statements or details.
The agency said it would expand information on the expected appointment system that the government has been discussing since late December tomorrow.
Last Thursday, Health Secretary-designate Carlos Mellado anticipated that “on Monday we will continue with this”, referring to the launch of the platform. The system, according to the secretary, will allow “to have the number of people to be vaccinated every day.”
The director of the VOCES coalition, Lilliam Rodríguez, said The new day that a meeting of vaccine suppliers took place on Friday with Salud and the company Turnos Media, which operates the turnospr.com platform and in which it would have unified the appointment system for vaccination against COVID-19 on the island.
“Turnospr gave us an overview of how the application works, we will be able to connect our (programming) system to their system,” said Rodríguez, although he clarified that VOCES continues to use its individual programming system, through which they have already vaccinated about 3,800 older adults corresponding to phase 1-b and will vaccinate about 1,000 more this week, already mentioned.
“Salud is looking for a tool to unite all the providers we help in managing the pandemic, especially in the vaccination part,” said the organization’s director. One of the goals, he said, is to avoid duplication of appointments by people who have contacted multiple providers.
