Health orders the closure of 15 branches

The health department ordered the closure of 15 branches and fined 10 companies for failing to comply with the COVID-19 prevention protocol.

The establishments that had to close are: Drinking Die Sport Bar, Don Rey Smoke Shop and Wine, Colmado Bar La Minita, Business 1023 Restaurant & Bar, Colmado El Padrinito Méndez, Jalao Mini Market & Bar, Business Super Colmado la T, Clothes Vieja, Diana’s Pizza on Ave. De Diego, Cafeteria Michael, Garage Puma, El Nuevo Yucayeque in Río Piedras, Jalao Mini Market & Bar, La Bandera Business and CVS Pharmacy.

On the other hand, the fined companies are: Burrito Social, Julius Restaurant, Condado Walgreens, Los Amigos del Jangueo, Colmado Placita La Parada, Agua Ardiente, Lokos Kokos Bar and Grill Business, Mundo Celular and Star Barber Shop, among other interventions.

In addition, they intervened on tourists who did not comply with the travel declaration form that was drawn up on the island.

Beginning July 15, 2020, all travelers must submit a test conducted 72 hours or less before their trip to Puerto Rico. Those who do not submit the test must remain in quarantine for 14 days or until they present a negative result.

While the Secretary confirmed that tourists in turn are obliged to follow the rules set out in the Executive Order. “The tourists with whom they intervened were from Chicago and Brooklyn and did not yield a negative molecular test result.”

The statement of Travel declaration form (TDF) has clauses in which the citizen assures that the information is correct. If incorrect, they can face up to three years in prison for perjury. The case is currently being discussed with the public prosecutor.
