The Metropolitan Health Region maintains the Community Operations Center for Control and Traceability (Cocytc), where information sent by the Gorgas Memorial Institute for Health Studies (Icges) focuses on positive patient outcomes for follow-up, control and traceability alike.

The head of Public Health in the Metropolitan Region, Ana Lorena Chang, explained that all the results are validated by the coordinators who have medical staff, then are distributed to each health center, so that field traceability can be achieved.

He explained that field traceability covers delivery of food bags, delivery of medicines and medical care, carried out by the single traceability team of healthcare staff, volunteers, government staff, the joint work force (FTC), municipal, regional and local authorities to achieve the effectiveness of traceability in a positive patient and their close contacts.

During the Cocytc operation, the traceability team that remains in place is in charge of making daily calls for the report and, with this list, close contacts are obtained for sampling by buffering at different health centers with their rapid response teams (ERR). .
