Millions of users of the dating site MeetMindful I got some bad news on Sunday. ZDNet reported that the group of hackers ShinyHunters, the same group that leaked millions user records for the listed company “Auschwitz Camp” T-shirts, threw what appears to be data from the dating site users database. It looks like the leak contains sensitive information of over 2.28 million registered users of the site.

According to ZDNet, the 1.2 gigabyte file was distributed as a free download “on a publicly accessible hacking forum known for trading pirated databases. ” It included discoveries of sensitive and identifiable users information, including real names, email addresses, details about city, state and zip code, birth dates, IP addresses, Facebook user IDs, and Facebook login tokens, among others. However, the messages were not exposed.

Socket, which included screenshots of the file posted on the hackers forum, as well as a small sample of the exposed data, points out that not all broadcast accounts include full user details. However, he said the leaked information could be used to link people“Meeting profiles of their real-world identities. The hacking forum where the data was posted was viewed over 1,500 times. On the socket, it is still available for download.

ZDNet said it was informed of the leaks by a security researcher, whom it did not name earlier this week. He added that he contacted MeetMindful on Thursday to ask for a comment on the matter, but did not receive a response for days.

Gizmodo also contacted MeetMindful to ask about the reported hack. We will make sure we update this blog if we hear.

According to him Crunchbase profile, MeetMindful is a platform of dating sites for “people who are interested in health, well-being and care”. It was founded in 2013, is headquartered in Denver, Colorado and is still active.

However, here it is starting to get a little weird. Website listed social Media the channels have been inactive for months, which is interesting given that there have been major dating applications INCREASE during the pandemic. You mean they don’t want to encourage their users to meet (safely)? From the outside, the service looks like a dead zone. Who knows, though, it might be fashionable inside the site itself.

It is unclear whether MeetMindful notified its users of the incident. If true, users need to know so that they can be looking for suspicious activity and change their login and passwords if necessary. Bottom line: Move.
