The Treasury Secretary, Francisco Parés Alicea, confirmed tonight that the ministry will continue to pay the $ 600 stimulus check between now and next week.
“To date, we have already paid out about $ 1,444 billion to about 1.7 million families participating in the $ 600 program,” the secretary wrote on social networks.
Parés Alicea confirmed that 119,000 checks were sent this week, figures included in this estimate.
The Treasury previously claimed that about 2.8 million families would benefit from the $ 600 dollars, and that about 200,000 people would be paid daily.
