“Guillito” returns, on Monday, to his activity in Mayagüez town hall

The mayor of Mayagüez, José Guillermo “Guillito” Rodríguez, reported this Sunday that he will return to work tomorrow, Monday, after a week away from the town hall.

Last week, Rodríguez appointed engineer Jorge Ramos as mayor of the municipality without giving further details.

As he said in a statement, his priority this week will be for the Press and Communications Office to coordinate a meeting with the press on “the issue that was discussed last week”.

Several sectors, such as the New Progressive Party Youth Organization, have called for Rodríguez’s resignation in recent weeks, following the arrest by federal authorities of people accused of committing electronic fraud and money laundering against the city council in a $ 9 million.
