Guerrero Jr. hits a wild stick, but doesn’t stop the Royals from beating the Blue Jays

Jakob Junis extended his scoreless innings to 14, and the Kansas City Royals gave him a seven-round lead before the bullpen blew the most in a 7-5 win over the Toronto Blue Jays , Thursday evening.

Junis (1-0) allowed two runs and five hits on a walk while working in the sixth inning, but both scores came with reliever Jake Newberry on the mound.

Kyle Zimmer accepted a touchdown and Scott Barlow allowed two enemies to rely on one in the ninth inning before dominating Bo Bichette with a ball and hitting Vladimir Guerrero Jr. for the first save.

Guerrero was shy three times to complete the cycle with the Blue Jays. The highlight for Toronto was the Dominican’s two-out shot in the seventh inning.

The ball removed the wells from the left field and landed about 456 meters from the motherboard.

It was not the night for Toronto Kay, Anthony Kay (0-1), who gave up five rounds and six hits in just 3 1/3 innings.

The kings were going through an offensive fall before waking up against the angels on Wednesday. A range built to take advantage of the extensive grounds at Kauffman Stadium continued to garner extra-basal hits on Thursday night.

Andrew Benintendi opened the board with a double RBI before Kay withdrew his first enemy. Nicky Lopez followed with an RBI triple in the third half – and scored on third base Cavan Biggio error. But the fatal blow for the Blue Jays came in the fifth inning, when four of Kansas City’s first six batters doubled.

For the Royals, the Cuban Jorge Soler scored 4-2 with a run. Dominicans Hanser Alberto 3-2 with one product and two scored; Carlos Santana 4-0. Venezuelan Salvador Pérez 4-0.

For the Blue Jays, Guerrero Jr. 5-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Cuban Lourdes Gurriel Jr. 3-2 with a marked run. Mexican Alejandro Kirk 1-1.
