Even if Grand Theft Auto V has been in vogue for almost a decade now, many fans still have a soft spot for the entry that preceded it in GTA IV. Fortunately for this fan base, the fourth installment in the long-running series could soon receive a major graphic review that could make it much easier to return to the future.
In a new project called Revison by BisonSales, a new group of moderators seeks, in essence, to remaster Grand Theft Auto IV with modern images. So far, what has been shown seems quite incredible. This uses iCEnhancer 4 beta mode to completely recreate the graphics fidelity of GTA IV. This includes revisions to the textures, lighting and even its overall game performance.
So far, iCEnhancer and RevIVe have only released an initial video showing this graphical mode in action (which you can watch above), but what has been highlighted looks great. Although there is still a lot of work to be done on the project, the textures that can be seen in this new iteration of Liberty City match what we expected from the next generation titles.
At this time, this RevIVe project is still in its early stages of development and could take a little longer to launch. The creators said that this is just something he is working on in his free time at the moment, but he is looking to raise more funds through Patreon, so that he can dedicate more time to his creation.
The only major disadvantage of this mode is that it will obviously only be available to those on your PC once it arrives. While PlayStation and Xbox games have dealt with modes over the years, GTA IV it is far too old to allow this. If you want to play the game on a console, you can do so by removing the PS3 or playing on the Xbox One or Xbox Series X / S by reverse compatibility.
All in all, if this RevIVe mode gets to see the light of day, it will be a truly impressive feat and it will certainly do GTA IV much more appealing to review. If there are other developments regarding the creation of this mode in the future, we will let you know GTA cover page.
