All Florida residents over the age of 18 will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine beginning April 5of, Governor Ron DeSantis announced on Thursday.

DeSantis made the announcement in a video released from the governor’s office, saying that the age of eligibility will be reduced to 40 years and more from Monday before reducing it to all adults next week.

“We have now vaccinated over 70% of the approximately 4.4 million seniors living in the state,” DeSantis said. “And we’re ready to take that step.”

DeSantis added that more than 400 Walgreens locations will provide vaccines in the coming days, in addition to the more than 700 Publix locations, 150 CVS locations and 125 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations across the country.
