If you enjoyed shopping with the Google Shopping app on iOS or Android, it’s best to switch to the web version. It looks like Google is closing its Shopping app in a few weeks.

The clues that the ax is coming were seen by XDA developers on Thursday through the code from the latest version of the Google Shopping app, which allows users to shop in thousands of stores and buy things using their Google accounts. The news was later confirmed by 9to5Google, which said applications are darkening, but will continue to run until June. However, this does not mean that Google Shopping disappears. web version and the Google Shopping tab in Google Search will continue to be launched.

“In the next few weeks, we will no longer support the Shopping app,” a Google spokesman told 9to5Google. “All the functionalities offered by the application to the users are available in the Shopping tab. We’ll continue to build features on the Shopping tab and on other Google surfaces, including the Google app, which will allow people to easily discover and buy the products they love. ”

Priza reported that some users who upgraded to version 59 of the Google Shopping app received a message informing them that the app was not available in the last few days.

“The app is not available at this time, but you can continue shopping at shopping.google.com,” the message read.

Given that the web version is almost identical to the app, there isn’t that much to mourn here, which is quite surprising considering it’s Google. I still sigh with disappointment about the disappearance of Google Hangouts, and I’m confused as to which Google product is the right alternative. (There is a guide, though).

Are you blocked by Google Shopping news? Fear not. Will definitely be remembered at Killed by Google, which so far has a diary of 227 applications, services and hardware, the big technology giant has decided to pull the plug.
