Gorilla Glue’s GoFundMe page, Tessica Brown, topped $ 20,000 on Thursday, after doctors finally removed the sticky things by surgery.
The 40-year-old Louisiana woman – whose hair remained solid for a month after using the super-adhesive as a hairspray replacement – began raising funds on Monday.
She raised more than $ 13,000 in one day – and by Thursday afternoon, that number had risen to $ 20,577.
The fundraiser – started by Brown and a relative and using a photo from her visit to the emergency room – did not detail what the money would be used for.
Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Michael Obeng offered to perform Brown’s surgery for free – a $ 12,500 procedure – after hearing about the hair growth ordeal.
“How do you feel about feeling your hair like that again?” one can be heard asking Brown after the four-hour procedure, in the recordings posted by TMZ.
“Now I wish I’d waited for you to cut my ponytail,” says Brown.
Brown has a lawyer and weighs a lawsuit against Gorilla Glue.
