King of all Kaiju. King … it is, King. Only one monarch can lead the monstervers – and if we look at our first glance Godzilla Vs. Kong is any indicator, then it could be our friend simian who manages to get an early victory.

Warner Bros. and Legendary have given up on us first extended look the Adam Wingard movie monster mashup, and it does not spare to introduce the two monstrous indicators directly into the cradle of things. And the fists of things. And the atomic breaths of things. Suffice it to say that it is hard on the grandly scaled action.

But it also gives us a little taste of the arrangement of why these giant anti-heroes face off – and a mix of new and returning human faces that can look shocked and amazed as a titanic battle for the planet begins. Check it out below!

Located after the events of Skull Island and The King of Monsters, the film sees a mysterious operation led by geologist Nathan Lind (Alexander Skarsgård, along with Rebecca Hall in an unnamed but important role as a fellow scientist on the project) to recover Kong today, which has now been linked by a mysterious young girl with the power to communicate with monsters apparently and even to command them. But whatever the girl’s connection to the gigantic monkey is, it’s an ability that apparently shakes Godzilla, who returns to the destructive scene to take her. This is contrary to his behavior after the end of the year The King of Monsters– asking Madison and Mark Russell (Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler) to step in to see if they can find out what went into the big G.

The stage is set for the destructive and complete culmination of a seemingly centuries-long massive monster war – and while one might think that Godzilla has the edge, this trailer goes beyond the fact that Kong will be able to to walk from foot to foot with the (current?) King of Monsters.

We will be able to get seats first when Godzilla Vs. Kong reaches cinemas (and, in the US, streaming starts simultaneously for 31 days on HBO Max) on March 26th.
