Glastonbury 2021 Canceled | Fork

Glastonbury was canceled for the second year in a row due to COVID-19. The “forced pursuit year” of the music and arts festival, originally set for June 23-27, marks the first time that its modern incarnation will jump over consecutive years. “Despite our efforts to move Heaven and Earth, it has become clear that we simply will not be able to make the festival happen,” organizers Emily and Michael Eavis wrote in a statement. “Thank you for your incredible support and we look forward to better times in the future.”

As with last year’s cancellation, ticket holders can exceed the GBP 50 deposit, guaranteeing the chance to secure tickets for the 2022 festival. In 2020, Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney were ready to run the festival. No program for next year’s festival – if it continues – has not yet been confirmed. The 2019 edition included Cure, Stormzy, Killers, Janet Jackson, Kylie Minogue and many more.
