The pig is in The Poke
Now I know you’ve been waiting for him. Today Guilty Gear Strive The Arc System Works Getting Started Guide gives us all our first in-depth look at a favorite, brand-new, and already favorite fan character, Giovanna, who will debut in the series when GG Strive launches this spring.
The sexy and elegant new fighter may seem to have stepped off the podium in Milan, but she is, in fact, a federal agent tasked with guarding some of the highest officials on the planet. Don’t let that take you away from her, because Giovanna keeps her magnetism with a super-cool attitude and a Good Boy named Rei, a wolf spirit who compliments Giovanna’s acrobatic fighting style.
Conceived as a beginner-friendly character, Giovanna strangely avoids projectiles, battling a series of familiar coup attacks. Giovanna has variations on Guile’s Flash Kick, Terry Bogard’s Crack Shoot and even on Chun Li’s Spinning Bird Kick. To prevent zoning, Giovanna can launch a Cannon Spike attack that cancels fireballs. Without projectiles, it is up to the players to press the opponent with an active progression forward, before mixing them with a variety of combos and shiny throws. From this video, I’m a little worried about the range and options Giovanna compared to other characters, but of course it’s the earliest day, so we’ll see. And we’ll see, as you can guarantee a real circus at Giovannas online ca beta.
