Through her Facebook account, Gilberto Valenzuela Macén’s family announced the death of the man born in Sahuaripa Sonora.
It was reported that at 21:25 on Friday, April 2, it ceased to exist after health problems.
He was born in Sahuaripa, Sonora, Mexico in 1935. Son of Alfonso Valenzuela and Adela Macen Amavizca.
In 1952 he married Aurora Salazar Bretado, the daughter of the local deputy for Navojoa in 1935, Miguel Ángel Salazar Ayala.
In 1976 he won the OTI festival with the song “De que te quiero te quiero”. He beats Napoleon, Sergio Esquivel, María Medina and Felipe Gil; however, Gilberto succeeded and his fame grew.
