Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks ruled out Indiana Pacers with left knee sprain

The Milwaukee Bucks will be without Giannis Antetokounmpo against the Indiana Pacers on Monday night after the back-to-back league MVP was ruled out with a sprained left knee.

Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said he was “hopeful” that Antetokounmpo’s absence would be short-lived.

“We’ll see how he does it the next day or two,” Budenholzer said.

Antetokounmpo suffered an injury early in Milwaukee’s 120-113 victory over San Antonio on Saturday. His status for the Bucks’ next game, against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday in Milwaukee, remains unknown.

“We’ll see how the next few days go and we’ll make the kind of decisions that are best for him,” Budenholzer said. “And keeping him really healthy, but there are no decisions on Wednesday now.”
