The impact of Genshin developer miHoYo has released a very special video, which is essentially just the game’s idol character, Barbara, who talks about … stuff. She offers to hear “The Traveler”, the protagonist of the game, and has a one-sided conversation about compliments and falling feelings and generally acts as a kind of vtuber based on the Hydro-tuned character in the video game.
Vtubers, or “virtual YouTubers”, are practically just animated character platforms that respond to what is recorded on one side to produce the effect of a virtual character who speaks and moves like a real person. There has been a strong increase in their popularity in English, thanks to the late thanks in large part to some bloggers like Watson Amelia, Gawr Gura and many more. Given the animation on Barbara in the video, which you can see above, it really seems more like the model in the game is more animated than a traditional vtuber platform, which is usually much less agile, but the premise the basic is the same.

The impact of Genshin is currently available, for free, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC and mobile devices. The video game will also be released for the Nintendo Switch. Version 1.2 update “Chalk Prince and the Dragon” recently released and added a completely new area, characters, events and more. The version 1.3 update will be released on February 3rd.
