The director of information and media for the presidency, Daniel García Archibald, described as “rude” and “reckless” the press conference held by the legislator of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) after the speech of responsibility of the president, Luis Abinader.
Archibald indicated that the opposition acted in a hurry, as the president was still in the National Congress, while the PLD representatives made their statements.
He also said that the press conference was held to undermine the speech of the head of state.
“The press conference of the PLD legislators to disqualify the speech, even with the president of the Congress, seemed rude, reckless and hasty. Obvious leadership of the opposition, “he wrote on Twitter.
What did PLD say?
The PLD criticized the responsibility, saying that “what this government knows, and very well, is to note the achievements of the previous government”, adding that in just over six years of leadership they have already failed to fulfill several promises made.
Promises that have been kept unfulfilled include reducing food and fuel, protecting health, not lending money, reducing investment, lacking an education plan and greater safety on the streets.
He also called Abinader’s administration one that improvises and has no direction.
