Wes Clarke, red, hit 1-1 at the bottom of the third, to notice the score at 1-1 and remained so until the top of the fifth.

The advantage did not last long, while Gamecocks followed the starter Ty Olenchuk at the bottom of the frame. Braylen Wimmer managed to lead outside the half, and later in the half Clarke hit with a three-run shot to give the Gamecocks 5-3.

The French broke out, but Urban played one on the right to put the runners in first and second with one. The Gamecocks went to the bullpen, replacing Andrew Peters with Will Sanders. Reid came to pick a player who forced Reid, but moved Parker to third with two outs. However, a flying ball ended the threat, leaving that game tied at 7-7.
