Gal Gun Returns was canceled on Xbox One after “productive talks” with Microsoft

Super Sexual Shooter suffers from “consistency issues”

Developer Inti Creates has announced that it is canceling the Xbox One port of its upcoming remaster Gal Gun Revine, although the development was completed on the Microsoft platform.

In a statement posted on Twitter yesterday, Inti Creates said that while Gal Gun Revine has a master ROM completely ready for revision, ongoing discussions with Microsoft led to the decision to cancel the Xbox port completely, noting that the developer could no longer “ensure the consistency of the experience” on all platforms. Hmm …

Gal Gun Revine is a remaster of the famous rail shooter from 2011 Gal Gun, which sees the player step into the role of a male student – armed with a barrage of “pheromone arrows” – in a quest to connect to the gallery of their dreams. To achieve this goal, the protagonist must avoid the obsessive desire of an entire school full of girls, bringing them into a state of “euphoria” with well-placed “Ecstasy Shots”.

While Inti Creates remains (slightly) obscure with its comments, it’s not at all hard to read between the lines of what happened here – especially given that the original Xbox 360 version of Gal Gun a patch has been issued by Microsoft to restrict camera controls.

As regards Inti Creates, Gal Gun Revine is still slated for release in the West on February 12 on PC and Nintendo Switch. Pre-order customers will deliver a limited edition “Smell Like a Girl” bookmark. Lordy.
