Today, at Fujifilm’s X Global Summit, the company announced two new cameras, including the new GFX 100S, which is the company’s most compact large-format camera to date.

Weighing in at 1.9 pounds, the GFX 100S is closer in size to a traditional DSLR than its older brother, the standard GFX 100. However, despite having a 30% smaller body, the GFX 100S it still has a huge 102 MP sensor with a new improved image stabilization system in the body that offers up to 6 stops to reduce agitation.

As with many Fujifilm cameras, the GFX 100S comes with 19 different film simulation filters, including the new Nostalgic Neg. filter that seems to recreate the shades of vermilion and amber seen in the photos of the 1970s

Similar to its bigger brother, the GFX 100S has a monochrome electronic ink screen on top with virtual dials, along with a new larger AF joystick and a slightly redesigned left-hand control wheel, similar to what you get on XF-10. Around In the back there is also a 3.2-inch variable angle touch screen that can be adjusted in three directions. And while the GFX 100S is primarily designed as a camera, it also supports 4K videos of up to 30 fps.

However, to make the GFX 100S so small, Fujifilm had to make some trade-offs, such as removing the bracket for an optional battery outlet. In terms of light, thanks to the use of a new NP-W235 battery, the GFX 100S should be able to take approximately 460 photos on a single charge, compared to about 400 for the standard GFX 100 (on a single battery).

Alternatively, if 100-MP is more than you really need, Fujifilm also introduces XE-4, which is a kind of cross between X100 and X-S10 but without stabilization in the body. Featuring a 26.1 MP sensor, while weighing only 0.8 kilograms, Fujfilm says the XE-4 is the most compact camera that supports interchangeable lenses in the X Series range.

Fujiflm claims that the XE-4 should deliver super-fast autofocus performance with support for both face and eye detection. However, for people looking for a flexible digital rangefinder with a few extra tricks, the most important feature of the X-E4 could be its 3-inch rear display, which can be twisted 180 degrees so that it you can see from the front and more easily record vlog-style videos.

And with support for 4K recording at 30 fps or full HD capture at up to 240 fps, users will have the flexibility to choose between higher resolution or higher recording speeds for a slower speed.

Finally, in addition to the two new cameras, Fujifilm is also launching three new lenses, including a new 27mm f / 2.8 pancake lens, an 80mm f / 1.7 prime lens and a 70-300 mm f / 4-5.6 telephoto lens.

Both cameras are expected to go on sale sometime in March, with the GFX 100S starting at $ 6,000 (for the body only), and the X-E4 will cost $ 850 (for the body only) or $ 1,050 as a kit with a 27 mm f / 4 lens
