Frida Sofía will take legal action after reporting the abuses

One week after assuring that she had been abused by her grandfather Enrique Guzmán, singer Frida Sofía announced on Thursday that she will take legal action.

In an Instagram post, the singer’s daughter Alejandra Guzmán said that she will be represented by the Mexican law firm Oléa & Oléa.

“With the unparalleled support of my family and friends, We have decided to take legal action against various people for facts that are known to the public.“I urge the appropriate authorities to carry out the appropriate investigations.”

The Associated Press contacted the lawyers’ office on Thursday for more details, although they said they would not publish any comments at this time.

The young woman thanked the support received and asked for help from people who had been her teachers, psychologists or who had worked at home to get in touch with her.

Frida Sofía, 29, is the daughter of pop-rock star Alejandra Guzmán and businessman Pablo Moctezuma.

Enrique Guzmán categorically rejected, on social networks and in interviews, Frida Sofía’s accusations.

The PA does not usually identify people who say they have been victims of sexual violence, unless they have authorized it or spoken publicly, such as Frida Sofía.

Guzmán, 78, is a Mexican rock and roll idol. He started his career at the age of 14 with Los Teen Tops and starred in films such as “My Life is a Song”, “Specialist in Girls” and “Youth Fever”. In 1967 he married actress Silvia Pinal, with whom he had Alejandra Guzmán and Luis Enrique Guzmán before divorcing in 1976.
