Blues legend Lampard reacted to his brutal resignation on Monday night, telling fans he hoped he would be allowed to try to improve Chelsea’s stuttering fortunes this season.

Responding through the League Managers Association, Lampard said: “It has been a privilege and an honor to lead Chelsea, a club that has been an important part of my life for so long.
