Francisco Lindor will be introduced as Met on Monday at 11 a.m., new owner Steve Cohen said Sunday on Twitter, with the introduction of Carlos Carrasco coming on Tuesday.
Lindor and Carrasco were acquired in a successful transaction with the Indians in exchange for the short films Amed Rosario, Andres Gimenez and a pair of potentials, Isaiah Greene and Josh Wolf.
Lindor, 27, is set to become a free agent for the first time after next season and it remains to be seen if the Mets are able to conclude him with a long-term deal before entering the free market.
When team president Sandy Alderson announced the deal last week, he said “there is every reason to talk about some kind of long-term relationship” and added that the Mets will talk about a contract extension with Lindor and his agent in “The next two weeks. “
