During Friday’s press conference, Doocy noted that Biden had a list of journalists to call and that Fox News was the only member of the five-network press group not allowed to ask the president a question.
“I’m curious if that’s the administration’s official policy,” said Doocy.
“We’re having a talk here, aren’t we?” Psaki responded. ‘And do I take questions from you every time I come to the briefing room? Has the president taken any questions from you since taking office, yes or no? “
Doocy said that Biden sometimes responds to his shouted questions at White House events, but that when Biden has a list before him, he never calls up Fox News, dating back to the campaign.
“I’m just looking forward to this list he’s getting,” said Doocy. “The only member of the pool of five networks who has never been there dates back to when he resumed personal events in Wilmington during the campaign.”
Psaki noted that she answers questions from Doocy in the briefing room every day and appears regularly on “Fox News Sunday.”
“I’d say I’m always happy to have this conversation with you, even about the amazing socks you wear today, and have a conversation with you even when we disagree,” she said. “The President has answered your questions and I look forward to doing ‘Fox News Sunday’ this Sunday for the third time in recent months.”
Biden answered questions from reporters at 10 different outlets during his first press conference as president on Thursday, but stayed away from right-leaning Fox News in particular.
Doocy has emerged as a regular sparring partner for Psaki during the daily briefings, challenging the White House with sharp questions about immigration and other hot topics of the day.
The Fox News reporter has also been known to try to get Biden to answer impromptu questions at events with scripts and to ask questions that other outlets have avoided on topics such as the president’s son, Hunter Biden.
