Four shots killed a 53-year-old man in Soyapango | News from El Salvador

The victim was near the municipal cemetery when a man riding a motorcycle opened fire on him.

Héctor Orlando Cordero Solís, 53, died this afternoon after receiving at least four shots, two of them in the head, while walking on Roosevelt Street in Soyapango.

The victim was near the municipal cemetery when a subject, dressed in dark clothes and riding a black motorcycle, opened fire on him.

Cordero Solís’ body was left on the sidewalk in front of a barber shop while the killer fled.

Due to the fact that the incident was recorded on a video surveillance camera, the National Civil Police (PNC) carried out a strong operation in the area, leading to the capture of a suspect in the death of Cordero Solís.

He is an active member of Mara Salvatrucha, who was captured in the community of Duarte Meléndez in the same municipality. During the proceedings, the motorcycle was found and where, allegedly, the victim was attacked.

Cordero Solís was, as confirmed by PNC, an active member of the Sureños gang of 18 factions. The PNC reported that the scene of the incident is a border area between the two gangs.
