Fortnite’s holiday event brings planes back

FortniteThe annual holiday event is back and this time it brings a surprise: the return of the planes. “Operation Snowdown,” as it’s called, runs from Dec. 18 to Jan. 5 and adds expectations to the game, including a snow map and free unlockables, such as a soldier snowman named Snowmando. Everyone who logs in before January 5th will also receive a free carol emote.

However, the biggest feature is the return of aircraft. The timing is perfect: the planes were first introduced in season 7, in 2018, which was also a winter themed update for the game. (There was even a militarized Santa character.) They were later removed and it looks like their last appearance will be short-lived.

In addition to the new missions and free unlockable cosmetics, the event will also include a rotating selection of limited-time game modes, starting with the return of Air Royale. New holiday-themed items will also be purchased, including a man with a candy cane.

It’s been a busy month for Fortnite. Following a supervisor-themed live event, the game began its final season on December 2, introducing new characters such as Mandalorian and Baby Yoda. Since then, Master Chief and Kratos have joined Battle Royale, and Epic has continued to improve. Fortnite on the latest generation consoles.
