Fortnite adds Gangnam Style emote

Fortnite has seen a number of popular dance moves added in recent years, so it should come as no surprise that PSY’s Gangnam Style dance is now the game’s latest Emote! Epic Games has announced the new addition on Twitter, along with a short video that shows what it will look like when used in the game. Those who are dying to make their character dance to the sensation of international pop culture in 2012 can now block Emote in the game’s Item Store. Players will have to give up 500 V-Bucks to capture it for themselves and it is available right now!

The official announcement from Epic Games can be found in the Tweet embedded below.

The reception of the ad was quite positive on social media, so Fortnite players can probably expect to see Emote used quite a lot as a result. Given how big the dance has played in the game since its inception, the only real surprise is that it took a long time to finally see Gangnam Style come into play! While the warmth around the dance has faded a bit over the years, it remains an essential element of weddings, dances and more.

At the very least, Emote should prove a little less controversial than the recent Cyberdyne Health Emote. The official Fortnite the site erroneously told players that Emote will be offered along with the recent addition of the T-800 skin from Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The skin is meant to evoke the last moments of the T-800 in the movie, and many players were apparently disappointed when they discovered that it was not actually offered alongside the skin. As a result, Epic Games has announced that it will offer skin reimbursements to those interested. Fortunately, it seems that this time there will be no communication mistakes!

Fortnite is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. You can check out all of our previous game covers here.
