Fortaleza denies total closure due to the increase in COVID-19 cases

Faced with several publications and rumors on social media, La Fortaleza denied that a total closure of the business and amendments to the Executive Order are being considered due to the return to the COVID-19 cases that were registered in Puerto Rico, reported today, Wednesday, Press Officer of Governor Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia, Sheila Angleró Mojica.

“In the face of false information that is distributed on social media about a total apparent closure and / or changes in the executive order, we want to clarify that all information related to the pandemic or changes in the executive order will be communicated only through official means, as always done.” , Angleró Mojica said in written statements.

“The governor has indicated that he continues to monitor the situation and, if there is a decision, people will be notified. We continue to seek the cooperation of all to comply with the Executive Order and health protocols. And shops and restaurants must close at 21:00.” he added.

The expressions came hours after the governor reported that, given the increasing number of cases, he did not rule out further restrictions.

“Given the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, we are strengthening the integrated strategy against the pandemic. The Department of Health continues the vaccination process without a break, having an impact on all sectors in Puerto Rico, “said the executive.

“I ask people for a lot of cooperation, so that they only look for information from official sources and do not let themselves be left behind by rumors or messages on social networks,” he added.
