Former White House COVID counselor Deborah Birx has a new job in the private sector

Former White House COVID-19 coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx now works in the private sector.

Birx, who was known at the White House coronavirus briefings under former President Donald Trump, now works as chief medical and scientific adviser to ActivePure Technology in Texas, an air filtration company, Reuters reported.

She also joined the George W. Bush Institute as a global health colleague and biopharmaceutical company Innoviva as a board member, she told Reuters.

Birx announced her retirement late last year after being criticized for gathering three generations of her own family after Thanksgiving – while warning Americans to avoid groups outside “immediate households” for the holidays.

She officially left the federal government this week, she said.

“The Biden administration wanted a clean slate. I understand everything, “Birx told Reuters in an interview, adding that he regrets her role in responding to the pandemic.

“I’m trying to order them,” she said of her regrets. “We have to be willing to take a step back and really look at where we could have been and why we weren’t more efficient.

“When you have the 100,000 people we lost during the summer and the 300,000 people we lost during the fall-winter growth, you have to ask yourself and know that it didn’t go as well as should have.”
