To say there wasn’t too much fanfare around Bears’ decision to sign Dalton would be an underestimation of the off-season.
To be honest, Chicago’s rumored attempt to buy Russell Wilson into an aggressive trade offered so much excitement and created so much anticipation among fans that it didn’t really matter who they settled in. this position after attempts to land Wilson failed.
Dalton represents the team’s decision to settle for a second (or even third) choice, rather than doing whatever it takes to get a future Hall of Famer like Wilson. That’s not (and never will be) good for fans.
Apparently, he doesn’t fit in with NFL defenders Chris Canty and Rob Ninkovich either. See their hot performances on ESPN’s “Get Up” on Thursday morning:
