Louis Nix, a former Giants defensive lineman who survived a shooting in December, was reported missing by his mother.
Nix left his father’s home in Jacksonville, Florida, at about 10 a.m. Tuesday and never returned. according to a poster about the missing person distributed on social networks.
Nix’s mother told Action News Jacksonville that she believes her son is in danger because “This is out of the ordinary for him.”
She said that “he can’t call him because the voicemail is full and the people he talks to every day haven’t heard of him, [which is] not like him. ”
Nix was shot during an attempted robbery while putting air in the tires of his vehicle at a gas station in Jacksonville in December.
“I’m alive for everyone,” Nix wrote on Twitter on December 9th. “The bullet that hit me bounced my sternum in my lungs. Surgery is the next step, so keep praying for me. Thank you all for the positive energy and prayers. ”
Nix’s mother said she did not think this was related to previous shootings and that since then Nix “has not liked to go anywhere and follow her surroundings.”
The Jacksonville sheriff’s office had no other information about Nix’s status when he arrived at The Post
Anyone with information about Nix’s whereabouts is asked to call the Jacksonville sheriff, according to the missing person’s poster.
The 29-year-old Notre Dame product was written by Texans in 2014. He played in four games for the 2015 Giants after being asked to give up, but was cut off before the start of the 2016 season.
