Former Michigan Wolverines QB Dylan McCaffrey has moved to northern Colorado

Former Michigan quarterback Dylan McCaffrey is moving to northern Colorado, where he will have the chance to play for his father, Ed McCaffrey.

Dylan had been an ESPN 300 recruit in the 2017 class, but never managed to win a job in Michigan. He tried only 15 passes in 2018 and suffered a broken collarbone that shortened his season. In 2019, it was a backup for Shea Patterson.

McCaffrey was unable to start his career in Michigan and gave up the 2020 season before starting.

Old McCaffrey became head coach for the Bears in December 2019, but he has not yet prepared a game for Northern Colorado, as Big Sky moved its season in the spring thanks to COVID-19.

Northern Colorado recently announced that it will not be participating in the spring season and the Big Sky championship season, but will follow a modified non-conference program in late spring.

Ed will add his son to the list, with two years of eligibility left; and because Dylan is transferred graduate, he is eligible to play immediately.

McCaffrey is brothers with former Nebraska quarterback Luke McCaffrey and Carolina Panthers star Christian McCaffrey.

Michigan still has defenders Cade McNamara and Joe Milton on the roster, and staff has added JJ McCarthy, the ESPN 300 defender in this class since 2021. McCarthy signed up early in Michigan and was the 25th most recruited. as well as the defender with two dual threats in the class.
