Former Bachelor star Colton Underwood is filming unscripted series for Netflix

The former “Bachelor” star, who for the first time on Wednesday revealed publicly that he is gay, is currently in production for a series without scripts for the streaming service, according to a source with knowledge about the project.

Netflix representatives have not had any official comment.

An Underwood spokesman said he could not comment.

The news comes on the same day that Underwood first spoke about his sexuality with Robin Roberts on “Good Morning America.”

“I ran away from myself a lot, I hated myself a lot. I’m gay. I got along with it earlier this year, and the next step in all of that was kind of letting people know,” Underwood said. “I’m the happiest and healthiest person in my life. That’s what the world means to me.”

Underwood, a former NFL player, played in season 23 of the ABC match show.

The last few years have been great for Netflix’s unscripted space, where a series of traditional realities (i.e., out-of-competition reality and food spaces) have managed to penetrate even while the original offerer’s streamer library it continued to swell. “Selling Sunset” is without a doubt his biggest real hit to date, recording a two-season renewal last month.
