For little money they want to sell the hegemony of the MX League

Thanks to those leaders who want to get rich only in exchange for losing the hegemony that Mexican football had in CONCACAF.

Recently, there have been news that there is interest from both US and Mexican executives to unify the MX and MLS League.

I don’t think it’s a good idea, because managers, both in one country and another, are just looking for economic benefits. Smartly, Americans, in exchange for very little money, want to reach the level of football they represent Mexico in the world.

In the United States, they have been trying to reach this level for many years. I know this because I have contributed to the cause since 1979, when I went to play football in San Diego at a time when the great players who were already retiring like Pelé, Beckenbauer, Cruyff, etc. But I came for a young man to call for an international awakening. It was a time when they had no economic control and ended up failing.

Since then, United States of America He improved, he had good moments like the one in which they managed to beat us in the World Cup in 2002, when they thought they were beating us, but they didn’t. Now with that MLS, where I was present in my retreat, I noticed that he was going slowly, but safely.

Their idea is to condition that, with the 2026 World Cup, which they will share with Mexico and Canada, we have to support them because they helped us host a few games. It’s “help me learn and share quality and talent, because I help them get a lot of money.”

These agreements are only economic, not sporting, if it were, Mexico would not have left in the first instance competitions such as America’s Cup, Libertadores and South America.

For economic benefits, the managers decided to withdraw Mexican teams from these competitions and this affected us in sports. We were better both as a team and individually, when we played these CONMEBOL tournaments, because the level and quality are better in South America.

We wanted to match our references on the continent, which are Brazil and Argentina. We managed to reach two finals in the Copa América, five semifinals plus three finals in Libertadores, two finals and the championship of Pachuca in South America.

This was the best stage in Mexican football and all eyes were on the teams and players who played those tournaments. Now I think that, in exchange for the money, Europe’s eyes will be on Mexico and the United States, but the attention will continue in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia …

In Europe there are American players, but also Mexican players. If they really want to improve in sports, it is not convenient to join the leagues, NO. In this way, we sell very cheaply just to fit us, for that they should pay us much more.

In exchange for a little money, they want to stagnate Mexican football in order to increase their league, because they equalize us and, above all, in the not too distant future, they surpass us.

Thanks to those leaders who want to get rich only in exchange for losing the hegemony that Mexican football had in CONCACAF.
