Two women in Florida dressed as elderly women in an effort to get the COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, several stores report.
The two women wore disguises consisting of caps, gloves and glasses to appear over the age of 65, the current requirement for the vaccine age in Florida, according to The Washington Post.
Their plot failed when workers at the vaccine distribution clinic noticed that the birth dates on their licenses did not match the information they provided. The women, aged 44 and 34, were then stopped by authorities.
Images from the camera of a deputy from the sheriff’s office in Orange County showed that women are being deceived for their efforts.
“You stole a vaccine from someone who needs it more than you,” an officer was heard filming, shared on Twitter by WSVN News.

The women were given warnings of crime and were told they would be arrested if they tried to return.
“You have to wait your turn,” another officer can be heard telling them in the video. “You’re lucky you’re not arrested right now.”
Despite being detained, the women’s trick seemed to have worked before, as they both had cards from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to see if they had been given the first doses of the vaccine, Post reports.
The sheriff’s office in Orange County did not immediately respond to Hill’s request for comment.
