Florida Gators TE Kyle Pitts says he will enter the NFL draft and will not play in the bowl game

Florida’s Kyle Pitts is no longer playing in his senior season and will not play in Gators’ next home game to prepare for the 2021 NFL draft, he announced on social media on Sunday.

Pitts, a Philadelphia junior, is considered a potential top-10.

“After much prayer and consideration and talking to my family, I will give up my final year and enter the 2021 NFL Draft and not play the bowl game,” Pitts said. wrote on Twitter. “I’m eager to pursue my dreams of playing in the NFL. But I’ll always be a Gator.”

Pitts (6 feet-6, 239 pounds) is ranked No. 1 among the heads gathered by ESPN analysts Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay. Kiper ranks Pitts number 7 overall; McShay ranks him 10th.

Pitts has had 36 catches for 641 yards with 11 touchdowns this season for the Gators, who are expected to be played in a New Year’s home game on Sunday. He had seven receptions for 129 yards, with a score in a 52-46 loss to Alabama’s No. 1 spot in Saturday night’s SEC championship game.

He has 43 catches for 770 yards with 12 touchdowns in eight games.
