In the five years since Ezra Miller, The Flash debuted in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, the actor’s solo film struggled to get off the ground. With Andy Muschietti in the director’s chair, production is currently underway in the UK– and Michael Keaton is on his way to go. shell confirmed that Keaton will resume his role as Bruce Wayne / Batman in flash, vaguely based on Flash point comic book arc in which Barry Allen’s alter ego travels in superhero involuntarily creates an alternate universe in which Keaton’s Batman has been the hero of Gotham for the past 30 years. Keaton played the famous Dark Knight for director Tim Burton in 1989 Batman and its continuation, since 1992 Batman is back. Its distribution in flash was first reported last summer, around the same time that it was rumored that Ben Affleck’s Batman would appear – post-Snyder Cut and Warner Bros. trying to distance itself from that era of the DC universe, it is unclear whether Affleck is still set to appear.
Keaton recently questions Batman’s return during an interview with Deadline, in which he expressed concern about filming in the UK during COVID-19 pandemic. These worries seem to have dissipated in the coming weeks, as the studio began preparing for production and announced an additional casting: Kiersey Clemons will resume her role as Iris West (Barry’s love interest), Ron Livingston came to to replace Billy Crudup as Barry’s father, and Alfred Molina will resume his role as Doc Ock from Sam Raimi Spider-Man 2. Scheduled for a launch in November 2022, flash will also mark the debut of the new Supergirl of the DC universe, played by Sasha Calle.
