US stock futures were flat late Sunday in the first trading session of the new year.
Dow Jones Industrial Future Futures YM00,
S&P 500 futures ES00,
and Nasdaq-100 NQ00 futures,
they were little changed, two days before the Georgian elections, which will decide control of the Senate and probably the fate of the economic policy of the future Biden administration.
Shares in the U.S. ended on Thursday, the last trading day of 2020, with the Dow and S&P 500 setting new records as investors pulled off a wild year that saw stocks collapse in a bear market before returning to historical maxims.
The Dow DJIA,
closed the year up 8.3%, S&P 500 SPX,
reached 16.3%, and Nasdaq COMP,
ended the year with 43.6%.
