A few weeks ago, I heard how Japanese video game composer Nobuo Uematsu – the one he worked on the most Final Fantasy games with a certain ability and other RPG hits like Chrono Trigger – You might call it a day because of health problems.
Now, in a small update, the veteran creator and designer of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi, has stated how Apple Arcade is exclusive, Fantasy, could also be his potential last project. Here is exactly what he had to say during a discussion with VGC:
“I think it’s definitely possible that this was my last project, and that was kind of in my mind as I was developing it.”
Having said that, the 58-year-old remains open to the idea of continuing to lead his company (Mistwalker), but says he probably needs at least one vacation:
“To be honest with you, I didn’t think too much about the next steps for the company or where we want to go and I think I could use a little vacation time between now and whatever we do next. So we’ll see what happens, that remains to be seen. ”
Sakaguchi was responsible for the first five installments of the Final Fantasy series and continued to oversee the series as a writer and producer. He formed Mistwalker in 2004 and went on to create such titles Blue dragon, The last story, and now Fantasian.
Although it wasn’t mentioned that Fantasian is coming to Switch (at least yet), the trailer – with handcrafted dioramas – is still worth a look.
